Role Overview
Uber is hiring passionate and talented individuals for the Software Engineer – Developer Platform role. This position is part of the team that builds the foundational tools and infrastructure that Uber engineers rely on. The team’s mission is to simplify and streamline software development at scale, empowering developers to deliver top-quality products without friction.
As a software engineer in this role, you will contribute to tools and platforms that impact all stages of the software development lifecycle—from writing initial code to deploying it into production.
Responsibilities
- Write clean, scalable, and efficient code with proper documentation.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and write test cases to ensure software quality.
- Monitor and improve system performance in production environments.
- Participate in on-call rotations and help resolve incidents and bugs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand technical requirements and implement solutions.
- Contribute to core engineering initiatives across Uber’s tech stack.
Eligibility Criteria
- Fresh graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields, graduating between July 2024 and February 2025.
- At least 3 months of software engineering experience via internships, academic projects, research, or training.
- Strong understanding of Java or Go, data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Ability to analyze and translate requirements into effective system designs.
- Willingness to learn, adapt quickly, and contribute to high-impact projects.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
- Knowledge of distributed systems and scalable infrastructure.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve bugs efficiently.
- Experience in building backend systems or mobile applications is a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Location & Work Model
- This is a hybrid role. Candidates are expected to work from the assigned Uber office for at least 50% of their working hours unless otherwise approved.
